FOOD FOR THOUGHT
…hey momma, your issues are in your tissues
In our day of age, we get sick, we go to the doctor and guess what, we get sicker. It’s called The Band-Aid effect. They give us one pill to work for one of our symptom’s and when that pill stops working they prescribe another pill to make that one start working. To top it off with, they also medicate us with sleeping pills because the medication they gave us for our bowels kept us up all night long. Then we go home and start to self-medicate, over indulge in alcohol or drugs to numb the black hole were in, wake up, re-peat
It’s just all one big vicious circle, instead of listening to the messages our bodies’ are sending us, we pop a pill to ease the pain or rid the symptom and then we say, “why am I so sick all the time., why do I fill so run down, why do I have a migraine every morning, why can’t I eat without having diarrhea, why are my muscles pulled and always aching and why is my back in so much pain, why, why, why” the list goes on and on and we keep taking all kinds of crap that Band-Aids the issues and our symptoms, and our body keeps getting sicker and sicker. The issues go deeper and manifest into more permanent damage and then the labels appear and were diagnosed illnesses upon illnesses and before long we have a list of labels/issues that we sink into a depression and guess what then….that’s right, more fricken pills. Then it attacks us at a cellular level and gets into our blood stream and our saliva is a toxic waste land. You most likely have also been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Stress Syndrome, IBS, Skin Disorders, Degenerative Disc Disease, Symptoms of pain and possibly radiating weakness or numbness stemming from spine…...as they all tend to fall under the family of Depression and Chronic Stress, PTS Symptoms and on and on and on.
And now you can’t sleep, right, and you've gained quite a few pounds too, because those meds you’re on have side effects. Side effects such as weight gain, sleep apnea, and insomnia. And now you have anxiety because of all of these side effects. So what now? Now you have to call me, so I can help you get your life back. First we will start by helping you get to know your unconscious mind, that’s the only way we will get to Health, as the unconscious mind works side by side with the nervous system. Tapping into the unconscious mind is where all the secrets are kept at a cellular level; there just hiding out in your tissues. We have to get in there and dig deep into the intelligence system. Your body is reacting to what it is being fed. Today it may need a big mac, large fries, apple pie and ice cream. Tonight it may need pizza, chips, beer, candy and a new sports car. Tomorrow it may need new clothing, furniture or whatever. It just keeps needing, it’s needing to be fed, because it’s so out of whack, and you keep feeding it pills and the new flavor of the day, instead of listening and observing the messages held captive in the tissues of your body. You’re letting ego rule the roast and you’re taking advice from your false self that has lied to you for years.
Thus our mind and brain is so infected that we start to believe the story line of all the illnesses, the doctors and specialist have fed us. Were so caught up in the habitual sad story of our life, that were completely wrapped up in that moment of ”woe is me” and now, you re-read your list of illnesses to anyone that will listen and your told that you’re so negative and that you should try to get better instead of looking for pity. Is that right, have you've been told that before, did it send you for another binge into an eating frenzy, or shopping bonanza, did you lash out at that person or did you just find a hole to curl up in? Are you ready to slam your computer/lap top/ smart phone out the window because I’m hitting home, have you even considered for a moment how I know all this, all your issues, all your dilemmas all your secrets? Well I’m not physic, I just lived that life for 10 years and I still have bad days, but I know, how not to listen to my ego, and to ignore my false self, and I know how to tap into my un-conscious mind, and I listen to my body when it signals distress and I know how to get you there too. Just one word of advise…. and you can never, ever, mistake my kindness for weakness because, I will call you on every move your ego and your false self-make!! Isn't it time to heal, to stop the madness and seek the old you, the real you and the new and improved you.

SEEKING THE IDEAL NUMBER
Sometimes I wish I had a crystal ball that would allow me to predict exactly what number on the scale would lead to optimal health for a particular individual. Unfortunately, it isn’t that simple.
In fact, exact body weight only paints a small picture in terms of predicting overall health. Clinically speaking, it makes good sense that the more one weighs, the harder the heart will have to work, so there is some validity in saying that a reduction in body weight could lead to good health and decreased health risk. There is also good evidence to support that 5 to 10% weight loss can lead to improved health conditions. But other than that, using the scale with a set number for optimum health can be very misleading and difficult to maintain. The optimum number can also be a draining and exhausting undertaking for the mind body experience.
Basing one’s perfect number on the body mass index (BMI) can also provide a negative experience too; as the “BMI”is a tool, utilized to be analyzed, for the body mass index. The BMI, does not take into consideration lifestyle or body frame size, muscle mass, waist circumference, gender and blood level values, which significantly overlooks the total part of the equation (weight in kilograms divided by height is metres squared)
Regardless, knowing your BMI or the number on your scale; can still be exasperating and hold huge power over your health. The number on the scale can send you into a state of anger or even depression and leading to negative behavior/habit. It can also work in the opposite way, as seeing a lower number on the scale can give you a sense of ‘false security” and lead to overindulging in the moment.
I’m not saying “don’t ever use your scale again” I’m just saying ‘have a relationship” with your scale. I challenge you to start weighing yourself, do this discovery challenge for 3 straight weeks with no cloths on and an empty bladder. 1st after breakfast, 2nd supper and 3rd before you go to bed. Jot the numbers on a calendar and see if there is any consistency. If you see a pattern developing, then you know you’re on the right track, you’re doing well. Keeping in mind that the pattern can also fluctuate between 2-5lbs consistently (because of the sodium level) so if you eat a lot of salty foods or eat out at restaurants, make sure your drink at least 12 glasses of water that day to rid the sodium from your system and don’t weigh yourself after you've just drank 3 glasses of water…there’s just so many variables. Stay away from high sodium foods and restaurants if you want this test to be somewhat accurate.
Thus, the number on the scale should be viewed as a smaller picture of the puzzle, as optimum health is key here. The number can help you if you see your weight increasing and increasing week after week and not bouncing back to the pattern from your 3 week discovery. If this is the case, then you must take heed that you’re not slipping back into the “past habitual patterns” of over eating or binging. The number can be a friendly reminder or a signal, to put a little more thought into, of what is going into your mouth, and being mindful of your health. You are what you eat. You have the energy to do the things you love. You are exercising regularly. You have a check-up with your family doctor on a regular yearly basis. You feel healthy and not sluggish. You don’t eat more than 6 “six” (size of your fist) of food per day. You’re eating a well-balanced diet of fruits, vegetables, protein, good fats, and whole grains while fueling your body with healthy foods daily, well most of the time right !! Well then, you should just forget about the number on the scale.

Heart Ache
Many of us have experience heart ache in one area or other. It may be binge eating, weight gain or it could be that something is driving the choices you make each day; the way you affirm or dismiss yourself or others; the way you care for your body; the way you speak to your children; the way you handle rejection. Something is influencing the way you process the circumstances in your life. Is it my un-awareness to my soul, my emotions and my feelings? I remember waking up one night thinking through a problem and suddenly hearing a message like, "what emotions do I feel when I go on a crash diet or deprive myself of food" Mine were, anger, tension and anxiety
If we are willing, we can ask ourselves what is influencing our daily habits and reactions. Is it fear, anger, frustration, jealousy, denial, anxiety? What might be different if it were completely in touch with spirit? Well, we wouldn't be sarcastic. We wouldn't avoid those we care about and we wouldn't sabotage ourselves, would we?
Would we be gentler, softer and more thoughtful? Would we stand up for ourselves? Would we set boundaries? Would we challenge injustice? Would we hug someone who needs it? Would we breathe deeper, laugh more and smile at ourselves in the mirror?
Living under the influence of awareness says we have faith that somehow in some way things are going to work out and even if we don't know how right now, we have faith because true awareness of our feelings and emotions is the light we want guiding us.
……..but even after all that, bottom line is; we’re still hungry aren’t we, and not eating is like not breathing, Pranayama (breathing) is the sporadic fate of the serial dieter. Hunger is very subjective and it is very unpredictable too. It is physical, it is routine, and it is emotional.
Hunger feels like: Ravenous
Just right feels like: being bloated that you can’t move
Physical Hunger feels like: the emotions have an ark. It starts as a imprecise sensation in the body; it raises and mounts, then subsides, then surfaces, and then subsides again, the sways and jerk and jolts of the Roller-coaster Ride is not a permanent state, nor is it a healthy place to eat from, since it is reactive and anxiety based.
Letting Go and not giving into Emotional Eating, meaning being Mindful of the vague impulses being sent from your habits to your brain, and then countering them with gentle ease. You learn to appreciate the feelings of nourishing your hunger and learn to weather out the stir of emptiness that may send a shock-wave through your body and let you know “you've have had” ENOUGH and knowing how to make it pass; and that my friend is where I come in. To gently guide you, educate you, and lead you through, the gate way of 1=3 poinds of weight loss per week
